Do I need to be home while the work is being done?

No, as long as access is provided, we can complete the job while you are away for the day.
How can we make our tree smaller; can we top it?

No! Removing the top section (known as topping) is by far the fastest way to kill a tree. It causes stress on the tree causing decay and can become a very large hazard in the future. When we come for an estimate, we can let you know how much of the tree is safe to take off. It is recommended that no more than 1/3 of the tree be trimmed away.
Are you insured?

Yes, we are fully insured.
Can you tree and/or remove trees in the winter?

Yes! North Ridge Forestry is a 4-season tree service company. In fact, this is the perfect time to trim your trees. The lack of leaves makes the whole overall structure, more visible and makes it easier to maneuver around the tree. Trimming during the winter is better as it decreases the chance of infection as well as less chance of insects causing damage to exposed wounds on the tree.
How much do your services cost?

Prices vary based on the difficulty of the job. Some variables include the size of the tree and also the backyard, access to the property. Obstacles such as play equipment, pools, gazebos, sheds, wires and houses may also affect the price as these things create more objects to work around, giving the arborist less of a ‘drop zone’. This line of work is time consuming and can be very dangerous. You can trust North Ridge Forestry to provide the best and safest work.
What is done with the wood following a tree removal?

Following the removal of a tree the wood is brought to farmland and used as firewood for our families. If you would like to keep the wood from the removed tree, please let us know prior to the tree being removed. You may also save some money this way.

We service: Windsor, Tecumseh, Lakeshore, Belle River, Essex, Leamington, Kingsville, Amherstburg, Lasalle and everywhere inbetween! If you are unsure if we service your area, just ask!
Can you give me a quote if I send you a picture?

No, we are unable to quote any service by a photo for the reason that we cannot see obstacles (ie. Wires, gas lines, buildings, decay, rot,etc.) and some other variables that may effect the overall price.
What forms of payment do you take?

We accept cash, e-transfer, certified cheque and in some cases visa/Mastercard. If you would like to pay with credit card, please let us know in advance.
What is stump grinding?

Stump grinding is grinding the main trunk 3-4 inches below grade. The machine used for stump grinding turns the stump into wood shavings.
